This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost! The outpouring of God's Holy Spirit fifty days after Passover. Prophesied by the prophet Joel and preached by the Apostle Peter. There's nothing like the power and presence of the Holy Ghost! I pray that God would pour out His Spirit in the Texas Hill Country and around our nation this Sunday morning! Everyone ought to go to a Pentecostal church on Pentecost Sunday! Come join us at VENTURE CHURCH BTX this Sunday and hear and see the power of Pentecost! When true Pentecost happens there is a dramatic effect! Suddenly moments happen in tarrying places! Pentecost is not a denomination, it's a promise and an experience! . . Posts from the pastor: It's good that the clergy and laity employ Hermeneutics when studying the sacred text (Holy Bible). However, the Bible tells us that the Holy Ghost will lead and guide us into ALL Truth, not a form, theory or philosophical interpretation. Be careful of those who would excuse the scriptures in the form of being more enlightened or having some supernatural or mystical understanding or referring to extra-biblical writings (even some different historical accounts) more than the Bible itself. There are seemingly more and more people embracing teachings, instructions, and writings of and from people who are not filled with God's Holy Spirit. This is a Spirit written and Spirit revealed book, not some historical revision conspectus, or philosopher's writings subject to their philosophical rantings and carnal understanding! I know the etymology of the King James version bible so please do not try to excuse the fact that clergy, as well as laity, have strayed from God's original intent of His written Word. His intent has not and will not change regardless of what you have discovered in history, or how much Greek or Hebrew you know or can quote! Without His indwelling Spirit, this will continue to be "Greek" to you!

It's time for Christians to stop investing their time, energy, money in sports, dance, movies, and invest in Bible study, prayer, Godliness. ~Ken Raggio~

While raising our kids we NEVER one time had them ask: "Are we going to church today/tonight?" Some things must be established and immutable in your home! When you have a made up mind, serving God and faithfulness is easy and an absolute joy! Make your mind up today and place a banner over your doorpost that says: "AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD"
